Coaches Gerald Winston and Ansar Al-Ameen

Nebraska- Omaha’s Ansar Al-ameen said life as an assistant coach is less stressful than when he was a Division 1 college head coach.

In this episode of “What’s Up Cuz?!” Jason and Lance talk high school swimming with Whitney Young High School Head Coach Gerald Winston, who led his girl’s team to the Chicago Public League title this year. Winston talked about the importance of getting the Black American swimming rate higher to save more lives. Winston went on to talk about all of the opportunities competitive swimming and water polo can provide for student athletes.

Also in this episode, University of Nebraska-Omaha assistant basketball coach Ansar Al-Ameen tells parents what they should look for in a personal trainer for their child. Al-Ameen has trained some of the best men and women basketball players in the world. He also talks about the difference between life as a head coach versus an assistant.

The hosts also give their thoughts on the recently completed NBA In-Season Tournament. “What’s Up Cuz?!” airs Monday nights from 6-8 p.m. on the SportsZone Chicago network.
