Chris Zorich on HBCU Athletics and Bears

Chris Zorich, a Chicago native who played football at Chicago Vocational, has had a successful post-football career.

In this episode of “What’s Up Cuz?!” Lance and Jason welcome former Chicago Bears defensive tackle and Notre Dame alum Chris Zorich. The three talk about the unfortunate situation at Bethune-Cookman regarding Ed Reed and how Historically Black Colleges and Universities can improve their athletic programs. Zorich talks about his time as an athletic director at Chicago State and gives his response to the University putting together an exploratory committee to see if a football program would be financially feasible. Zorich also spoke about how proud he is of the Chicago Bears for hiring his former agent Kevin Warren as their new President and CEO.

The fellas also welcomed in a young man who is making a big impact on how high school sports are covered in Chicago. YB of Youngballerz TV explained how he got started covering games and why his unique style of commentating is both loved and hated, depending on which side of the fence you are on.

“What’s Up Cuz” airs Monday nights from 6-8 p.m CST on the SportsZone Chicago network, which can be found on YouTube, ROKU and the SportsZone Chicago app in the Google Play store.
